Walking Tour of Historic Roebling
On Saturday, join Roebling Museum guides for a walking tour of historic Roebling, the company town built in 1905 by the builders of the Brooklyn Bridge. This riverfront town on the Delaware is a virtually untouched example of worker housing from the American industrial age. Its 700 homes, company store, school, and library are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and every building has an important story to tell. The tour starts at 1:00 pm and lasts approximately 1 hour. Free with Museum admission ($7). The tour starts at the Museum, 100 Second Avenue, Roebling, NJ.
About Roebling Museum: Housed in the historic gatehouse to the Roebling mill site, Roebling Museum tells the story of the origins and growth of Roebling, NJ a company town built in 1905 by the John A. Roebling’s Sons Co. Exhibits, tours, and programs document the majority-immigrant workforce that built the iconic suspension bridges of the American industrial age. The village of Roebling, including 700 homes, is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Open Thursday-Saturday 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Mr. Allaire bought the property we now call the "Historic Village at Allaire" in 1822. Here he would create the largest iron-producing site in the State of NJ during the 1830s. The manufacturing of iron thrived largely due to the expansive self-sufficient industrial community that Mr. Allaire planned out. In honor of our founder's birthday, special historical demonstrations this day (experience over a dozen early 19th century craft guilds at the village), children's games/activities, tours of the historic homes and craft shops, and MORE!
In purchasing your General Admission Ticket, you will be able to see our historic trades in action including our blacksmiths and tinsmiths as well as tour our period homes to see how each class in the village lived. All of this, in addition to themed pop-up tours and demonstrations, is available to you when you visit The Historic Village at Allaire! Tickets are $5 per person ages 4 and up.

On Saturday, visit Historic Longstreet Farm in Holmdel and stop by the farmhouse to hear melodies from the 1890s played on the accordion. Enjoy the melodies as you step back in time with a visit to the farm. This free events run from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
From 11:00 am - 3:00 pm: Stop by the out kitchen to see what’s cooking on the wood-fired stove. Discover how recipes, cooking techniques and kitchens have changed since the 1890s.

Join us for a walking tour of downtown buildings by the great Gilded Age architect William A. Poland. Tour led by Karl Flesch of the Trenton City Museum. Before or after the tour, be sure to check out all the activities of businesses and groups participating in Trenton Saturdays Downtown.

Bring your boots and work gloves, because you’ll be learning just what it takes to keep farm animals...by picking up a pitchfork and doing evening chores! Help farmers feed and water the animals, bring in the sheep from the pasture, collect eggs in the henhouse, grind corn in the barn, scrub and fill water tubs, and clean the horses’ stalls for tomorrow’s breakfast.
This event will take place from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
Please note that all 2022 programs will be modified to encourage social distancing and reflect current State guidelines for public events. Visitors are required to carry masks at all times, and wear them when social distancing isn't possible.

Mansions by the Sea Trolley Tour
You’ll hear how the rich lived in the early 1900s in the most elegant part of town on this trolley tour that includes the eastern beachfront. You’ll see the broad streets and massive plots on Cape May’s east side – an area marketed as “New Cape May” at the turn of the 20th century. Today, new, beachfront second homeowners have continued the tradition, running the gamut from the mere wealthy to the fabulously rich. Automobiles, Trains, and Planes Weekend
Cruise into Historic Cold Spring Village for the Annual Automobiles, Trains, and Planes Weekend!
Classic Cars will be on display from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. See beautifully restored and preserved vehicles parked along the Village’s tree-lined, shell-paved lanes. Chat with the owners and learn about the process of restoring classic cars well as the fascinating stories behind their manufacture and history.
In addition to automobiles, there will be model train displays both days in the Welcome Center exhibited by the Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines Model RR Club and other locations throughout the Village.
NASW Aviation Museum will also be on hand with a restored MASH Helicopter!
A special combination admission ticket to the Village and NASW Aviation Museum is available at the Village gatehouses for a discount up to 30% savings, $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children.
Take a ride on a “speeder,” gasoline-powered railroad track inspection vehicle provided by the Volunteer Railroaders Association, on the original Cape May Seashore Line railroad tracks located on the east (US Route 9) side of the Village.
After purchase of admission, the speeders require an additional $5 for adults and $3 for children (3-12). Speeder will operate from 12:00 pm with the last ride of the days at 3:00 pm.
The Village is located 735 Seashore Road, three miles north of Victorian Cape May and a mile and a half west of the southern terminus of the Garden State Parkway. Admission during the season is $12 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 are admitted free. Unlimited free admission is available with Village membership. The Village Nature Trail at Bradner’s Run is open to the public for free self-guided tours.
