Sheep to Shawl Festival
Join us as we kick off the 50th Anniversary Celebrations for the Miller-Cory House Museum with our Sheep to Shawl Festival. Held on our historic grounds, the festival includes sheep shearing demonstrated by a master shearer using hand shears as was done in early America. Museum docents in period costume will also be demonstrating wool-related period crafts including spinning, weaving, and knitting. 18th century farm tasks such as wash day and soap making will also be demonstrated and our cooks will showcase eighteenth-century colonial cuisine with authentic colonial-era open hearth cooking using period recipes and techniques. The event is rain or shine and runs from 1:00 to 4:00.
There will be a children’s craft and story time with local author Laura Sassi who will be reading her sheep-themed picture book LITTLE EWE.

The Magic and History of Marquand Park
In 1953, the Marquand family donated 17 acres of their estate, Guernsey Hall, to the municipality of Princeton to serve as an arboretum and passive recreation park. Once part of a 30-acre farm owned by Judge Richard Stockton Field, Marquand Park is home to more than 150 different tree specimens, some dating back over 170 years!

The tour is on Saturday at 11:00 am and will last approximately one hour. Tickets are FREE, but registration is required, as space is limited.

Potato Planting
Children Friendly
Visitors of all ages can join workhorses Bill and Jesse to help plant a field of potatoes that will yield over 2,000 pounds of food for local soup kitchens. While farmers drive the horses and steer the plow to open up the rows, helpers will follow behind with baskets of seeds and place them in the furrows. Over the next 4 months the field will be weeded and hilled by interns and volunteers...before visitors again help to harvest the crop in mid-August. The site is open from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Please note that all 2022 programs will be modified to encourage social distancing and reflect current State guidelines for public events. Visitors are required to carry masks at all times, and wear them when social distancing isn't possible.

Walking tour of historic Roebling
On Saturday, join Roebling Museum guides for a walking tour of historic Roebling, the company town built in 1905 by the builders of the Brooklyn Bridge. This riverfront town on the Delaware is a virtually untouched example of worker housing from the American industrial age. Its 700 homes, company store, school, and library are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and every building has an important story to tell. Mansions by the Sea Trolley Tour
You’ll hear how the rich lived in the early 1900s in the most elegant part of town on this trolley tour that includes the eastern beachfront.
