Friday, April 27 - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 - Cape May, Cape May County Capturing Cape May's Architecture: The Making of a National Historic Landmark In the early 1970s, a team from the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) produced pen and ink drawings of Cape May, NJ's most significant historic structures that were instrumental in saving this seaside town - "the best-preserved late 19th century resort in America." The drawings enabled Cape May to become a National Historic Landmark and a national tourist destination. Now, for the first time, these intricate drawings and the stories of the architects whose hands created them are on exhibit at the Carroll Gallery. Saturday, April 21 - Paterson, Passaic County National Junior Ranger Day at Paterson Great Falls NHP Children Friendly Event & Site Calling all Junior Rangers! Become a "Major League" Junior Ranger at Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park on Saturday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Decorate your own baseball cap (while supplies last!) and learn about the history behind our National Historic Landmark, Hinchliffe Stadium. Join the author of the book Skatekey for story time at 11:30 am. Jennifer will read excerpts from her book, and share experiences from her time as a Central High School cheerleader who performed in Hinchliffe Stadium. Eastern National, our cooperating association, will be joining us to hand out free copies of their new "Passport To Your National Parks® Junior Ranger Edition" books

Saturday, April 14  - Mount Laurel, Burlington County Tour Paulsdale Paulsdale is open to the public for Second Saturday Tours at 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm. Paulsdale is the birthplace of Quaker suffragist Alice Paul. Tours include a 15-minute DVD presentation about Alice Paul's life and work and a walk around the porch where visitors learn about the Paul family's daily life in the house, the restoration of the house, and its present day use as a girl's leadership center. No registration is required, but large groups are encouraged to call ahead. Tours are $5.00 per person. Paulsdale is located at 128 Hooton Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Musick the Washingtons Knew Saturday, April 28, 2018 The Practitioners of Musick will return to Washington Crossing Historic Park in Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 28 at 7:00 pm in the park’s Visitor Center auditorium. Founded in 1999, the Practitioners of Musick survey the music of 17th- and 18th-century Great Britain, Ireland and America. Their performance will feature music based upon the surviving inventory of printed music owned by various members of the Washington/Custis family and music that was popular among 18th-century Virginia playhouses and concert rooms. Also performing that night will be the Germantown Country Dancers.

Saturday,  April 7   - Princeton, Mercer County Stony Brook Walking Tour Before there was a "Princeton," six Quaker families established a community on the fertile ground along Stony Brook. This two-hour hike explores the lives of the early settlers and the community they established, while following a portion of the trail George Washington took from Trenton to the Princeton Battlefield. Stops include the Stony Brook Meeting House and Burial Ground, walking a portion of the "hidden" back road into Princeton, and a view of the Battlefield. Admission: $5 per person and includes farmhouse museum admission. Tours begin  at the Updike Farmstead farmhouse, 354 Quaker Road, Princeton, NJ at 1:00 pm and ends

Grant allows Passaic County Historical Society to Digitize Curtiss-Wright Collection The Passaic County Historical Society is happy to announce that it is the recent recipient of a grant from the Fred J. Brotherton Charitable Foundation. The grant will fund the digitization and cataloging of the Society's Curtiss-Wright archival collection. The Society is very grateful and excited to be collaborating with the Foundation again on another archival project, after the successful partnership digitizing the Society's Paterson Evening News Photograph Collection.
