Book Talk with Tula Connell, author of Conservative Counterrevolution
On Saturday at 2:00 pm, the American Labor Museum/Botto House National Landmark proudly welcomes the general public to a book reception and signing event with author Tula Connell, Ph.D. Dr. Connell will discuss her recently published book, Conservative Counterrevolution: Challenging Liberalism in 1950s Milwaukee (University of Illinois Press, 2016) and will answer questions. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served.
In Conservative Counterrevolution, Tula Connell explores how the clash between political conservatives and champions of liberalism in 1950s Milwaukee shaped a city and helped redefine postwar American politics nationwide. Dr. Connell shows how far-right conservatives created a 50-year game plan that was driven by an all-out assault on unions and opposition to civil rights.
Tula Connell is a labor writer and historian. She worked in labor communications for more than 25 years and currently is Senior Communications Officer at the Solidarity Center, an international labor rights organization.
Tours of the Museum will be available and the Museum Store will be open for browsing and shopping. The Botto House National Landmark, home of the American Labor Museum, is located at 83 Norwood Street, Haledon, NJ. It was the meeting place for over 20,000 silk mill workers during the 1913 Paterson Silk Strike. The Museum's hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Historic Cold Spring Village opens its Homespun Holidays season with Wassail Day on Saturday from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. The Village paths come alive with the sounds and smells of wintertime at this free event. Select buildings will also be open where guests can enjoy hot beverages and treats served by historical interpreters in period clothing. Visitors can meet Father Christmas in the Country Store from 12:00 - 2:00 pm and enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride throughout the festively decorated Village grounds for a small fee. Guests can also enjoy live holiday music and light refreshments at the Dennisville Inn.

The Spirits of Christmas Ghost Tour
The spirits of Christmas are alive and well and celebrating inside the rooms of the Museum of Cape May County. Why not join us Saturday for a tour of this nationally-recognized historic home and catch the Christmas "spirits."
Our legions of ghosts and spirits have celebrated the holidays inside this home since 1704 and this year will be no exception. Come explore the rooms of the Cresse-Holmes house and meet the spirited children who run our halls, a small child who tags along on every tour and a man who stays in the basement with his tools hammering away while mumbling about visitors who pass through.
There's a group of men in the dining room who gather to toast the holiday and there really is a party going on in the second floor Victorian music room. Even Lily, the woman who stands near the vintage Symphonian, is in a holiday mood. Right next door, however, in the colonial bedroom, a young mother paces back and forth while she looks out the window for the doctor. Her infant in the cradle has a high fever and she is afraid her baby will die before the doctor arrives and tends her child this cold December night. And the list of other worldly visitors who tell their tales of Christmases past goes on and on.
Two award-winning journalists will tell the chilling tales of their experiences with the museum's resident spirits. Members of Morning Star Paranormal will also be on hand to demonstrate the equipment that documents the paranormal phenomena that haunts the historic house.
This tour will take place promptly at 6:00 pm on Saturday evening. Admission to the haunted holiday is $10 per person. Space on the tour is limited so reservations are required. St. Nick, his elves and a jingling sleigh loaded with cookies, coal and holiday cheer will arrive at Howell Living History Farm on Saturday, highlighting an all-day program, "Christmas on the Farm."
The celebration begins at 10:15 am, when children can climb aboard a horse-drawn work wagon for a ride to the woods to cut down a Christmas tree. All children will be given a chance to take a turn helping farmers cut the tree with a 2-man saw. Afterwards, all visitors can help decorate the tree with ear corn, pinecones and other natural ornaments. Helpers will be treated to hot apple cider and cookies.
St. Nick's sleigh will descend from the Farm's northern slopes at 12:30 pm. Its white-bearded navigator will check Christmas lists and give out treats (or coal, as the case may be) until 3:00 pm.
Gift baskets, wreaths and other items will be available for sale in the Visitor Center gift shop. Featured will be handmade gifts and ornaments crafted by the Pleasant Valley Stitchers. Howell Farm is also an official drop off site for Toys for Tots. Share the gift of giving by bringing an unwrapped toy to the farm.
The farm barn yard will be closed beginning Sunday, December 4 and will reopen Saturday January 28 for the ice harvest program. The visitor center gift shop will remain open beginning Tuesday, December through Friday, December 23 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Come to the Old Barracks this December as the 17th Regiment of Infantry returns as they first did in December 1776! This event will commemorate the occupation of Trenton by British troops just weeks prior to the Battle of Trenton, and offer visitors a view into this often misrepresented side of American history.
Throughout the day on Saturday, visitors to the Old Barracks will meet reenactors of the 17th Regiment of Infantry as they portray the daily lives of British soldiers. These men will drill, perform musket demonstrations, cook over the outdoor camp kitchen, sew winter clothing, and more in this unique event that will show a side of the Revolutionary War not often seen before.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors, and free for active duty military personnel, members of the Old Barracks Association, and children 5 and under. Holiday Weekend
Christmas season has always been a highlight of the Township of Ocean Museum calendar. For 25 years, we filled the auditorium of the old Oakhurst School the first weekend in December with exhibits, trains, crafts, and handmade goodies. We continued the tradition in our new home, transforming the Woolley House into a holiday showcase for two days each December.
On Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, the museum holds its 32nd Holiday Weekend. Model trains and Christmas collections fill the Our Town Gallery. On the porch, the Ocean Township Garden Club sells freshly made wreaths. The Hearth and Home Gallery is emptied to make way for an expanded Museum Shop and Bakery stocked full of homemade treats and one-of-a-kind gifts hand-crafted by Museum quilters. Children search the house for hidden nutcrackers in a "Holiday Hunt." Sunday afternoon, the winning quilt raffle ticket is drawn. All this is followed by the lighting of the Township Christmas Tree on the Museum grounds Sunday at 4:30 pm.
And, as is also our custom, the Holiday Weekend coincidences with the premiere of new mini exhibit-this year, "Remembering Ross Fenton Farm." Ross Fenton Farm was the storied nightclub that flourished on Deal Lake in Wanamassa the first half of the 20th century. The new exhibit features photos and artifacts, video of Charlie and Mabel themselves, and an exploration of the music and celebrities featured at the Farm.
Join us to learn more, shop local, and start the season in style. Recommended donations: adults, $3; children, free. Those paying their 2016 membership dues at the door are admitted free. Holiday Weekend
Christmas season has always been a highlight of the Township of Ocean Museum calendar. For 25 years, we filled the auditorium of the old Oakhurst School the first weekend in December with exhibits, trains, crafts, and handmade goodies. We continued the tradition in our new home, transforming the Woolley House into a holiday showcase for two days each December.On Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, the museum holds its 32nd Holiday Weekend. Model trains and Christmas collections fill the Our Town Gallery. On the porch, the Ocean Township Garden Club sells freshly made wreaths. The Hearth and Home Gallery is emptied to make way for an expanded Museum Shop and Bakery stocked full of homemade treats and one-of-a-kind gifts hand-crafted by Museum quilters. Children search the house for hidden nutcrackers in a "Holiday Hunt." Sunday afternoon, the winning quilt raffle ticket is drawn. All this is followed by the lighting of the Township Christmas Tree on the Museum grounds Sunday at 4:30 pm.
And, as is also our custom, the Holiday Weekend coincidences with the premiere of new mini exhibit-this year, "Remembering Ross Fenton Farm." Ross Fenton Farm was the storied nightclub that flourished on Deal Lake in Wanamassa the first half of the 20th century. The new exhibit features photos and artifacts, video of Charlie and Mabel themselves, and an exploration of the music and celebrities featured at the Farm.
Join us to learn more, shop local, and start the season in style. Recommended donations: adults, $3; children, free. Those paying their 2016 membership dues at the door are admitted free. The Foster Armstrong House will be filled with an assortment of antique sleds, skates, and coasters. Decorated Christmas trees will be featured in five specially adorned rooms. Santas from around the world will be found in each part of the first floor of the Foster Armstrong house. Victorian lace handkerchiefs and teacups will adorn a special Victorian tree in our Victorian sitting room and handmade ornaments representing each era that the house has spanned will be displayed on other decorated trees. Model railroad trains will be running in the center room with their own special tree. Our annual scavenger hunt will be scattered throughout the displays for the delight of both children and adults! This year the scavenger hunt will be based on the story, "The Night Before Christmas."
There will also be two special musical presentations. Singers from "Harmony in Motion" will be caroling on Sunday, December 4 at 2:00 pm and students from the Montague Elementary School Bell Choir will present a featured performance on Saturday, December 10 at 2:00 pm.
Our gift shop, The Foster General Store, will be open during tours with handmade items for sale from our historic crafters and local artisans. Also available for purchase will be a number of rare and limited edition books from our collection.

Walpack Christmas
Join the Walpack Historical Society for a "Walpack Christmas" at the Rosenkrans Museum, Main Street, Walpack Center, NJ within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The celebration and open house will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 3 and 4 and Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11 from 1:00 - 5:00.
The Rosenkrans Museum will be decorated in the old-fashioned style and refreshments will be served. The museum, a circa 1850 one and a half story frame building with eyebrow windows, was once the typical style of home in the Delaware River Valley. In addition, the Walpack Methodist Episcopal Church will be open and decorated for the holiday. The church was built in 1871 and was once the hub of religious and social activities in Walpack Township. The interior of the church was painted by an unknown artist in 1872 in the tromp-l'oeil or "fool the eye" style. The church is not heated so dress accordingly.

Just want to ohh and ahh at the gorgeous furnishings or be inspired to create you own Victorian Christmas decorations? Each room will help you instill a sense of Gilded-Age elegance to your own home! Children are given scavenger hunts and can search for a variety of interesting objects throughout the house. Crafters will have hand-made items for sale to help you buy that perfect holiday gift for your loved one!
While visiting Victorian Christmas, stop by the Carriage Barn Gallery at Ringwood Manor where theRingwood Manor Association of the Arts (RMAA) will be having a "small works"sale. The sale proceeds will help raise much needed funding to restore portions of the historic carriage barn roof.

The Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will reopen for the "Christmas in the Village" celebration. Opening hours for the Museum Christmas Weekend are 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday and 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm on Sunday. "Jack Frost" is the theme of this year's decorations. Come see the sparking, icicle filled rooms of our Museum. The Christmas celebration is the only time the antique harmonium in the parlor is played. The museum is decorated by members of the Museum Garden Club and the Jefferson Township Historical Society. Docents dressed in period costumes will be on hand, and hot mulled cider will be served outside by the pot-bellied stove on the banks of the brook. Mrs. Santa Claus will be making an appearance. During this holiday season, take a nostalgic look back at how Christmas was celebrated through the centuries by visiting Acorn Hall, headquarters of the Morris County Historical Society. From now through Sunday, January 8, 2017, enjoy sparkling trees, garlands, and wreaths throughout the mansion complemented by dresses, toys, photos, and historic newspapers featured in the current exhibit Race to the Finish: Newspaper Coverage of Presidential Elections, 1789-2008. This year's decorating highlights include a lavish "Lincoln Christmas" display in the Dining Room featuring Acorn Hall's "famous" upside-down Christmas tree, a 1920s celebration in the Front Parlor, and recollections of the WWII era in the Library. A spotlight will be placed on an Epstein's Department Store display in the Music Room, featuring Christmas store-front window items and memorabilia certain to bring back memories of the Morristown landmark.
The seasonal decorations are on view Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, Sundays from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, and by appointment. Closed Christmas and New Year's Day. Join the members of the Howell Iron Works Co as they celebrate the holiday season. Each historic home will be decorated according to a different Christmas traditions. As visitors explore the village they will learn how our holiday traditions developed. There will be story telling in the Enameling Building, Horse and Wagon rides, silhouette cutting demonstrations, music programs in the Historic Chapel, hearth cooking demonstrations, craft demonstrations and much more. St. Nicholas will be wandering the village giving out candy canes to the good boys and girls. This is a wonderful family friendly activity!
You can also bring your holiday cards to be sent from the historic post office located in the General Store. Bring your addressed envelopes with a stamp, and they will receive a special Allaire cancellation showcasing a historic building. Here are just a few of our activities taking place:

Christmas Through the Centuries
During this holiday season, take a nostalgic look back at how Christmas was celebrated through the centuries by visiting Acorn Hall, headquarters of the Morris County Historical Society. From now through Sunday, January 8, 2017, enjoy sparkling trees, garlands, and wreaths throughout the mansion complemented by dresses, toys, photos, and historic newspapers featured in the current exhibit Race to the Finish: Newspaper Coverage of Presidential Elections, 1789-2008. This year's decorating highlights include a lavish "Lincoln Christmas" display in the Dining Room featuring Acorn Hall's "famous" upside-down Christmas tree, a 1920s celebration in the Front Parlor, and recollections of the WWII era in the Library. A spotlight will be placed on an Epstein's Department Store display in the Music Room, featuring Christmas store-front window items and memorabilia certain to bring back memories of the Morristown landmark. The Batsto Citizens Committee, Inc. (BCCI) will hold the last of its events to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Batsto village with a Holiday Celebration on Sunday.
The headline event of the day will be a holiday musical presentation performed by The Pitman Original Hobo Band from 1:00 - 2:00 pm in the Batsto Visitor Center auditorium. There is a $5.00/person admission fee the show.
Carriage rides through the village conducted by the South Jersey Carriage Company will commence at 12:30 pm. There is a $3.00/person charge and the beautiful Victorian design carriage will wind its way around several of the buildings located in the upper village.
Adding to the festive atmosphere of the day, carolers from the Aurora Choir of St. Nick's Church (Egg Harbor City) will stroll the Village entertaining visitors with songs of the season.
The stately Batsto mansion, dressed in the splendor of the winter season, will be available to tour and the famous Batsto Post Office will be open to hand cancel holiday mail in the tradition of Batsto....with no zip code! Blacksmith Toby Kroll of Three Cedars Forge will demonstrate some of the techniques and tools of the trade in the Batsto blacksmith shop.

Saturdays and Sundays through December 11, 2016 - Harrison Township, Gloucester County
A century of sports and recreation in Harrison Township is celebrated in Game On!, a new exhibition at Mullica Hill’s Old Town Hall Museum. Over 100 photographs, artifacts, and rare movie footage of a Mullica Hill Quakers Pop Warner Midget Football Championship game in 1958 feature local teams and athletes from the early 1900s through the 21st century. Objects come from many from private collections as well as the Museum’s holdings, most of which are on exhibit for the first time.
Some of the oldest pieces in Game On! focus on the early history of baseball. Mullica Hill, Richwood, Ewan, and Ferrell all had their own teams, whose players were young men who sometimes played on more than one team just to have the opportunity to play the game.
It wasn’t until the 1940s that Little League teams began to take the place of the young men’s leagues, which gradually disappeared. The exhibition includes photographs and uniforms from both leagues.
The Township has also been home to a number of notable athletes, including football stars and coaches Robert C. Folwell, Jr. and Jim Leonard, major league baseball player and coach, Jeff Datz, outstanding track star William “Peanut” Gaines, and legendary athlete and Clearview High School coach, Lorriane Boyd Ledden.
Clearview’s early sports history is also represented, including programs for the then newly-opened school’s first interscholastic football game, played on October 8, 1960 at Woodstown.
The exhibition opens on the 56th anniversary of that first game and continues on Saturdays and Sundays, 1:00 - 4:00 pm, through December 11, 2016. Admission is free. More Than a Game Exhibit at the USGA Museum

Visitors to the USGA Museum in Far Hills will be surprised to learn that there is much to discover about the game of golf. Originally installed in February of 2014, the exhibit "More Than a Game" focuses on how the creation of African-American golf clubs positively impacted the community, despite the pervasive prejudice and racism of the Jim Crow era. They founded institutions that celebrated the game, and their culture, setting a new standard for what a free and open society could be.Local schools and youth groups are invited to arrange a field trip to the museum to learn about diversity in golf through the exhibit's centerpiece which is the story of William "Bill" Powell and the Clearview Golf Club. Founded in 1946 in East Canton, Ohio, Clearview is the only public golf course in the United States designed, built, owned, and operated by an African American. Celebrating their 70th anniversary this year, its existence is a testimonial to the vision, determination and integrity of Powell, who overcame numerous obstacles in the pursuit of his dream. Lesson plans are available upon request for teachers and group leaders prior to or following their onsite experience.
Powell's Clearview Golf Club was not the only African-American golf institution founded in this era. The exhibit also honors other clubs that made significant contributions to minority golf including Shady Rest Country Club in Scotch Plains, NJ, home course of John Shippen, the first American and the first African American to play in a U.S. Open Championship in 1896. Also featured are significant trophies from the United Golfers Association and many other various artifacts that celebrate the men and women who made sacrifices in an effort to realize their dream of equality on the greens.
The USGA is one of the world's foremost authorities on research, development and support of sustainable golf course management practices. It serves as a primary steward for the game's history and invests in the development of the game through the delivery of its services and its ongoing "For the Good of the Game" grants program. Additionally, the USGA's Course Rating and Handicap systems are used on six continents in more than 50 countries.

Pedrick (1868-1927), Survey of the Artist Exhibit" at the Trenton City Museum, Ellarslie in Cadwalader Park, Trenton, NJ through January 15, 2017.Born in Mount Holly, William Everitte Pedrick's life was cut tragically short at age 59 when he was killed on his way to work in an automobile accident, leaving behind an enormous portfolio of work that celebrated the personalities and events of the City of Trenton. Well-known throughout Trenton in his day, his paintings hung in the State Capitol, City Hall, the Courthouse, and other public buildings as well as regimental armories, colleges, museums, and courtrooms in other cities.
After studying at the National Academy of Design in New York and attending the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, he came back to New Jersey and set up a studio at the Masonic Temple in Trenton. There he created caricatures of notable local politicians and personalities that graced the pages of the Trenton Sunday Advertiser and his own Acme Magazine. While portrait painting was his favorite branch of art, he was also a well accomplished landscape artist, specializing in scenes depicting the role that Trenton played during the American Revolution. An amateur historian, he thoroughly researched his subjects and never shrunk from pointing out the inaccuracies of famous paintings, most notably Emanuel Leutze's epic "Washington Crossing the Delaware."
A founder of the Trenton Arts Society and the Trenton Art Alliance, he strove to make an art museum possible in the City of Trenton. As an organizer of the Trenton Fair Art Club, he helped choose a painting of an outstanding artist each year to be placed in the municipal collection with the goal of making Trenton a place of recognition in the world of art.
The exhibit is being guest-curated by Laura M. Poll, Archivist at the Trentoniana Collection, Trenton Free Public Library. Paintings are being loaned to the exhibit by the Trenton Free Public Library and The Old Barracks Museum, among others.

See early newspaper coverage of George Washington's election through Barack Obama's 2008 campaign, and an authentic copy of the 1948 "Dewey Defeats Truman" headline of the Chicago Daily Tribune.
Complementing the newspapers are period clothing such as an 1876 dress worn to an inauguration party for President Rutherford B. Hayes, political paraphernalia including campaign buttons for Adlai Stevenson and Franklin Roosevelt, and a 1917 telegram sent by President Woodrow Wilson and other cultural artifacts - all from the extensive collections of the MCHS. The exhibit closes on January 29, 2017.

Fashion for the Far East: Collecting Chinoiserie at Macculloch Hall
Like many collectors at the time, W. Parsons Todd (1877 - 1976) delighted in objects made in China and Japan and those created in Europe inspired by Asian design during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This exhibition traces the popularity among early twentieth century collectors for decorative objects made in or inspired by the East through a selection of carpets and porcelain in the Museum's collection. Objects on display will include the fine antique carpets woven in China, the Rose Medallion china made in China for export to the West, a pair of monumental Satsuma Vases urns made in Japan, and a pair of monumental vases created in an Asian style in Dresden, Germany.

Toy World Exhibit

Bring the whole family to enjoy this fun new exhibition spotlighting the little-known history of toy manufacturing in New Jersey. Step back to another era and enjoy a bit of nostalgia with more than 100 toys made in New Jersey between 1880 and the late 1960s, during New Jersey's golden era of manufacturing. See how world events helped shape the toys produced here, from tin toys, porcelain dolls, and model trains, through the development of plastics, which ushered in little green army men, Colorforms, Suzy Homemaker ovens and more. Innovations such as the first "talking" doll, created by Thomas Edison, will also be featured.The exhibition features a play area for children and a spot to share your favorite childhood toy memories. Randomly selected memories will be featured on the Museum's Facebook page throughout the exhibition. "Toy World" will be on view from through April 28, 2017.

Bruce Springsteen: A Photographic Journey
Like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Bob Dylan before him, Bruce Springsteen is a pillar of American music. Springsteen has turned his guitar into an instrument of change, using it to tap into the American psyche and connect with the blue-collar man and woman through his melodies and lyrics. From his humble beginnings of rehearsing in New Jersey garages to selling out arenas around the world, Springsteen's career has spanned decades and crossed genres-and has never wavered from its upward trajectory.This fall, Morven Museum & Garden presents Bruce Springsteen: A Photographic Journey. Traveling from the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, this exhibition features forty photographs of the rock legend and video interviews with five of the six noted photographers: Danny Clinch, Ed Gallucci, Eric Meola, Barry Schneier, Pamela Springsteen, and Frank Stefanko. Together they revisit Springsteen's career as a frontman and songwriter, capturing his charisma and off-stage vulnerability.

Presidents at the Monmouth County Shore Exhibit
One hundred years ago this September, 25,000 people gathered on the grounds of what is today Monmouth University—then a private estate called Shadow Lawn—to see Woodrow Wilson officially accept the nomination of the Democratic Party for a second Presidential run. Wilson was following a popular tradition among American Presidents to retreat to our slice of the Jersey Shore to escape the heat and hubbub of Washington. At the Eden Woolley House, this major exhibit tells the wide-ranging stories of eleven Presidents who spent time here, at the Monmouth County shore.Mrs. Lincoln got the ball rolling
There’s a case to be made that it all started with Mary Todd Lincoln. Mrs. Lincoln travelled to Long Branch in the summer of 1861, probably at the invitation of William Newell, family friend and then supervisor of the life-saving services in New Jersey. Long Branch was already a popular resort, and national coverage of the First Lady’s visit added immeasurably to its fame and appeal.
That fame and appeal continued to draw the wealthy and influential—including the seven presidents who vacationed in resort city, starting with Ulysses Grant.
Seven Presidents in Long Branch
In 1870, a group of wealthy businessmen who summered in the Elberon section of Long Branch presented President Grant with an oceanfront cottage where he vacationed for the next 15 years. When Grant died in 1885, city officials feared the resort might lose its cachet. They needn’t have worried. Six of the next ten Presidents--Hayes, Garfield, Arthur, Harrison, McKinley, and Wilson--chose to spend time in Long Branch.
The most tragic of these Presidential visits was James Garfield’s last. Mrs. Garfield was in Long Branch recuperating from illness, when, on July 2, 1881, Garfield was shot by an assassin in the Washington train station. He was taken to the White House, where his condition worsened. In hope the sea air might help, Garfield was taken to Elberon. Famously, locals worked through the night to build the spur to carry the President’s railroad car from Elberon Station to the ocean side cottage. He died there 12 days later, September 19.
Beyond Long Branch
Long Branch was not the only Monmouth County destination of Presidents. Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, and Richard Nixon visited our area, if only, in some cases, for a political rally. And then, of course, there’s Warren Harding, whose local connection was a bit less public and a good deal more scandalous. Join us June 26 to learn the full story. The Township of Ocean Historical Museum offers exhibits on the history of coastal Monmouth County and a full calendar of events. The Museum also houses a library and archive of local history. A Revolutionary Legacy: the Cornelius Low House 275 Exhibit
The newest exhibit to open at the Middlesex County Museum exhibit delves into the history of the Low family and the role they played in the shaping of the United States. A Revolutionary Legacy: the Cornelius Low House 275 exhibit is housed inside the County’s Historic Cornelius Low House/Middlesex County Museum.
This seven-room exhibit contains artifacts that date to the 1700s and includes handcrafted furniture from New Brunswick, paintings by artist Micah Williams, a document signed by Cornelius Low and his wife Johanna, portrait miniatures of several Low family members, and a chair that George Washington used on a visit to the New Brunswick area. These items are on loan from the DAR Jersey Blue Chapter Buccleuch Mansion, the Suffolk County Historical Society and private collections.

From the hooped dresses and bustles of the 19th century, to the many variations of gowns during the 20th century, nearly every popular wedding gown style is represented. Also showcased are bridal accessories including headpieces, veils, shoes, fans, lingerie, and jewelry.
