“Capture the Park” in Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Fall Photo Contest

“Capture the Park” in Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Fall Photo Contest
October 1 - 31, 2015

The Friends of Washington Crossing Park (PA) invite members of the community to enter the “Capture the Park” photo contest during October.

Photos may depict anything at the park—buildings, foliage, animals, people or events—but must be taken between Oct. 1 and 31, 2015. Photos should be emailed as an attachment to info@washingtoncrossingpark.org and include the photographer’s name and a brief caption. All entries must be received before Nov. 1 and only one photo is allowed per entrant.

An independent panel of judges will select the top 10 photos out of all the entries. These 10 photos will be displayed in the park’s Visitor Center starting in November and also posted on the park’s Facebook page. The photographer whose photo earns the most “likes” on Facebook will win a $50 gift certificate to the Washington Crossing Inn and be named “Best of Show.”

By emailing a photo to the park, entrants give the Friends of Washington Crossing Park consent to repurpose and distribute the photo for promotion purposes.

For complete contest rules, visit www.washingtoncrossingpark.org/visit/photocontest.

Washington Crossing Historic Park commemorates the site of General George Washington’s famous Delaware River crossing on Christmas night 1776. The 500-acre park also includes the Thompson-Neely House, an 18th-century farmhouse used as a hospital to care for sick and wounded Continental soldiers, and Bowman’s Hill Tower, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Washington Crossing Park is located at the intersection of Routes 32 and 532 in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Washington Crossing Park in partnership with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Individuals with disabilities who need special assistance or accommodations to participate in this event should call 215-493-4076.
