Guest Blogging Guide
Do you like to write and have an interest in history and historic sites? TheHistoryGirl.com is looking for guest bloggers interested in visiting, researching, and writing about historic sites in their neighborhood or topics in history! Featured articles are released every Wednesday morning. The articles and site are publicized through Facebook posts throughout that week. The site you visit is also posted as the Facebook cover photo for the week, on a Pinterest board, and a related "Organization of the Week" blog post.
- Must be written about a historic site or theme in U.S. history (Priority given to sites on the East coast at the current time.)
- Between 1,500 words and 2,000 words or longer if desired.
- Must provide photos to accompany article (Exteriors and Interiors if possible).
- One image must be suitable for a cover photo - please ask for further details.
- Articles should describe the history and architecture of the site, the people that lived, worked or used the site, and the site's significance.
- Send an email to kelly@thehistorygirl.com with the subject line of "Featured Article."
Personal articles are an opportunity for people to write about their favorite sites, moments in history, or other fond memories of the past.
To submit a personal article:
- Must be written about a favorite historical site or moment in history.
- At least 1,000 words.
- Send an email to kelly@thehistorygirl.com with the subject line of "Personal Article."
Articles on antiques or antique hunting are an opportunity for people to write about their collections or how to spot authentic antiques.
