Saturday,  March 31  - Farmingdale, Monmouth County Allaire Village's Easter Egg Hunt Children Friendly Event & Site Celebrate Easter at Allaire Village! On Saturday, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, join us for an Allaire Village Easter Egg Hunt!  There are over 10,000 eggs in the village!  Hunts are divided into age groups: 0-1 (with an assisting adult), 2-4, 5-7, and 8-10. A hunt takes place every 15 minutes and hunts are continuous throughout the day from 11:30 am - 4:00 pm. The Easter Egg Hunt is $6 per person, children under age 1 admitted free! Pre-registration is highly recommended; all members of your party must have tickets, not only the children participating in the hunt. Tickets are available below or over the phone at 732-919-3500. Tickets will be reserved under your name and can be picked up upon your arrival. R

Saturday,  March 24  - Freehold, Monmouth County Open Hearth Open House Children Friendly Event Join us at the Covenhoven House on Saturday from  12:00 noon - 4:00 pm  for our Open Hearth Open House. Take a tour of the historic house, enjoy 18th-century recipes cooked on the hearth, and period children’s games outside. This event is free and open to the public. Visitors will be transported back in time as costumed interpreters demonstrate how food was prepared in an eighteenth-century open-hearth kitchen at the Covenhoven House in Freehold. Featuring a rotating theme and menu, this program offers visitors the opportunity to learn about colonial foods cooked over the open hearth, then sample the results. Saturday, March 3 - Montclair, Essex County Hidden Treasures Appraisal Day Ever wonder about that heirloom that’s been in your family for generations? Or that great buy you found at a garage sale? At the Hidden Treasures Appraisal Day, you can find out the history and the value of your treasured object. A joint fundraiser by the Montclair History Center and the Montclair Women’s Club, the Hidden Treasures Appraisal Day takes place on Saturday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. The fee, which benefits both organizations, is $20 for the first object, $15 for the second. Members of either organization receive a $5 discount. Sign up on-line at www.montclairhistory.org .
